This is one of the official 20 pence Commemorative coins minted in honour of the 2020 European Championship. An official Commemorative coin has been produced for each country participating in the championship. Each of these unique European Championship coins is heavily silver-plated with pure (99.99%) silver. The coins, inscribed UEFA EURO 2020™, were struck before the European Championship was forced to be moved to 2021. This makes the coins highly desirable among both football fans and collectors worldwide.
This coin features a waving flag of Ukraine and the abbreviation UKR. We also see Sint-Michielsklooster and the statue Mother Ukraine both situated in Kiev.

During the 2021 European Championship, matches were played in as many as 12 different countries and as many stadiums. The matches in the Netherlands took place at the Johan Cruijff Arena and football was also played in Munich, Rome and St Petersburg, among others. The semi-finals and the final took place in England's football temple: the legendary Wembley Stadium.
